That time I saw Ron's Yule Ball get-up

That time was Saturday.
At approximately 4:45ish.
But for now, I will recount the entire trip.

Friday:
After work, I ran home, showered, finished packing, and picked up my sister.
Then, we headed off to Quincy.
Met everyone else, had good foods, and hung out.
And since this was a Harry Potter trip, we had to play Harry Potter Clue, of course.
And....I lost.
Hermione Granger lost all of her house points.
But, whatever.

Saturday:
After getting about 4 hours of sleep, we had to awake and get on the train.
It is very hard to sleep on a train.

Anyways, we made it to Chicago.
After taking our schtuff to the hotel, we headed out for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.
At the hotel, they gave us a coupon for a free appetizer.
And it was fantastic.

Then it was time for the Museum of Science and Industry.
So, we hopped on a bus, and away we went.
After walking around the museum for a while, 4:00 finally came.
Which meant fun times.
Before we went into the Exhibition, they had some trivia questions.
I think we embarrassed my sister by our awesomeness in remembering spells.
She, however, returned the favor.

So, before you go in, they pick a couple of people to get sorted.
This little kid gets up there and the worker-dude (sounding all British-y) is like,
"Say 'Ello to (insert kid's name)"
Everyone replies,
"'Ello (kid's name)"
Then from my sister you hear, quite loudly in fact,
"'Ello Govena!"
It was the funniest dern thing ever.

And then they open the doors.
Now, Abby walks through exhibits quickly.
The rest of us take everything in.
Read what the labels say.
Look at the details.
Comment on how the colors look different in the movie (true story).
So, needless to say, she was ahead of us for most of the time.
But it was fantastic.
If you like HP (who wouldn't?!) and have the opportunity, go and see it.
The entire time, we were wowed by how small they are.
Emma Watson is a little thing.
And they had Dan Radcliffe's costume from Sorcerer's Stone, and he was a youngen.
It was cute.

They had quaffel throwing.
I would make an awesome chaser, just so you know.

And they saved the best for last.
The Yule Ball outfits.
Ron's Yule Ball outfit is my favorite from the whole series.
And I was within arm's length away from them.
I didn't touch though.
They also had some of Cedric's outfits.
Which made me even more happy.
I think it was Kaitlin who was a little ahead of me and said,
"They have some of Rob's costumes up there."
I could have touched them too, but I didn't.

We all bought wands in the gift shops.
We're cool.

After we left the museum, we went to the Navy Pier.
The hotel gave us another coupon for a free appetizer at Bubba Gump's and we got a VIP coupon.
This handy VIP coupon took us to the front of the line.
Where we should have waited for 2 hours for a table, we waited 3 minutes.
'Twas awesome.
And the Cirque du Soleil thing was amazing.
Those people are crazy talented and bendy.

Overall, the weekend was fantastic.
It was nice to get away for a little bit.
I couldn't take pictures inside the exhibit, but they did have the flying car outside for picture-taking.
So here you go:
:)

Just call me Bella Swan...

Here's the story:

Yesterday, I was going to Taylor's house.
I get to his house and am walking up to his door when.....

...down I go...
...on my butt...
...in the mud...

Because, you see, his older brother found it necessary to hose down the front sidewalk, making it a muddy mess.
Apparently he did not realize I would be walking through and that I am, in fact, the biggest clutz ever.
When he just happened to show up later I made sure to let him know he was responsible for this.
(He didn't agree.)

So, as I am sitting there in the mud, two options pop into my head.
Do I continue on into his house and face him and his family?
Or do I turn around, hoping they aren't watching from inside, and go home to clean up before I come back?

I chose the first option, obviously.
1) I don't want to get mud in my car.
2) I don't really care what him or his family say. We've been around each other for too long for me to get embarrassed by things like this.

So, I walk in, mud up to my knee and covering the entirety of my rump, and retell the story of this fall.
His reaction?
Lots of laughter, followed by "God, you are the biggest clutz ever."

Apparently he didn't remember The Great Fall of 2004. (I reminded him of course.)
Let me take you back...
February 2004. Sophomore year. Taylor and I had been dating for all of a week or two.
The bell rings to signal the end of school and, for some unremembered reason, I had to stay and do something.
When I finally got to the student parking lot most of the cars were gone.
I go walking to my car, when...

...down I go.

"Ice doesn't help the uncoordinated."
I guess the janitors missed a section of the parking lot when they were salting the ice, and I just happened to attempt to walk on it.
This nice fall resulted in the breaking of my arm.
And I actually did drive home with a broken arm.
Cause I'm that good.

Another part of Taylor and I's conversation from yesterday went like this:
Taylor: "Wow, you're worse than my mom. Remember when she broke her arm when she tripped on a little hole?"
Me: "Yeah. At least I fall on flat surfaces."

I am dying.

OK, that might be a slight exaggeration.
I do feel like pooooooop though.
I think it is my allergies.
But I have also acquired a cough.
ughhhhhhh

Chicago this weekend!!!!!
Ugh I'm super pumped!
We're gonna play the Twilight game and Harry Potter Clue to prepare for our trip.
The Twilight game was just thrown in for fun. It actually has nothing to do with the trip.
I'm pretty sure we will be watching Wizard People as well.

Weasley is my king!

I am currently running on 4 hours of sleep.
Not to mention, I went through 10 hours of work today.
And I've been feeling sickly all day.
But here is my review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

It gets a "thumbs up!"
A "thumbs way up!"
It is one of my favorite Harry Potter movies.
And that is saying something, since I really love The Goblet of Fire.

I found this one really funny.
The romance that is there provides for great moments.
Jessie Cave makes a great Lavender Brown.
She totally plays the part of the "crazy in love teenager" wonderfully.

This movie really brought back the trio.
I feel like The Order of the Phoenix pushed the trio into the background.
Half-Blood Prince really showed their relationship, which will definitely be good for Deathly Hallows.
Plus, I really do love Ron Weasley.

Rupert Grint=my best friend.
Or at least I wish.
The part where he eats the candy with the love potion is genius.
The guy is truly hysterical.

I loved DRad in this.
And by "DRad" I mean Dan Radcliffe, obviously.
The liquid luck part is also great.
This movie was just filled with funny moments.

However, those of us who have read the books know that is has the dark moments.
Tom Felton's performance as Draco Malfoy was awesome.
The emotion he brought to the character made me actually feel a little sorry for Draco, which I never felt in the books.

The Inferi are creep-tastic.
Funny story: I was going to attempt to scare my sister even more than I knew she was going to be scared.
(She hasn't read the books. But she is an avid movie goer.)
So I slyly slid my hand to the arm rest right by her leg right before the Inferi show up.
Then, when they popped out of the lake, I grabbed her leg.
She screamed and totally peed her pants.
Funny part: so did I.*

A couple things bothered me a little though.
I don't know as if they talked about the Horcruxes enough.
They didn't discuss Dumbledore's ideas on what the Horcruxes could be, which I think will be a problem in Deathly Hallows.
I'll keep my faith in the movie makers though.

I also don't think they talked about the Half-Blood Prince enough.
It was barely talked about.
I feel like they only put it in the movie because that's the name of the movie.

So there you go.
My overview of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Go see it.
I'm going to see it again on Saturday.

Oh!
And that part in the end:
I cried.

*Neither one of us actually peed our pants.

'Ello Awl!

(That was me trying to type with a British accent..)

Happy Harry Potter day!!!!

I'm so frickin' excited!!
10 o'clock tonight.
I will be at the theatre.
I would have went to a midnight showing if I didn't have to get up for work at 5.

So get excited.
Go see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Talk with a British accent.
I'm doing all three.

A Dose of Random

I haven't done one of these for a while.
Should be fun.

So I had a whole week off a while ago.
And I did watch all the Harry Potter movies.
Except I'm pretty sure I fell asleep in the middle of all of them.
My sister and I wouldn't start them until about midnight.
And this old lady **points to self** can't stay up that late apparently.
So I would end up watching the last half of the movie the next day.

The fourth was fun.
Mom and I went wine tasting after the parade.
And Mom bought some wine.
Then we walked uptown for a while.
And I bought some homemade bread from the Amish.
So we went home that day with wine and homemade bread.
I told Mom that all we needed was some cheese.

I found out on my birthday that Rupert Grint had the swine.
I get a voice message from Erin that goes:
"Hey. Happy birthday. Also, Rupert Grint has swine flu."
Alright, maybe not exactly like that.
But along those lines.
Turns out, he's fine.
Good deal.

You know who was in St Louis last week?
Paramore.
You know who wasn't in St Louis last week?
Me.
:(

I booked the Chicago trip!!
I am super duper excited!
And, I just reserved my Half Blood Prince tickets!
This month is the greatest!!

My sister got me Breaking Dawn for my birthday.
I have been reading some of it before I go to bed.
And, I got her the music from Twilight so she could learn how to play Bella's Lullaby.
I was only slightly embarrassed when I had to ask, like, 5 people in Barnes and Noble where I could find it.
She has learned how to play part of it though.

I bought me some fabric so I could make curtains for my bedroom.
I'm pretty sure I could stay in JoAnn's Fabric Store all day.
I only had a limited time though.

I'm out.
Peace.

A "Holy Balls!" Story

Let me set the scene for you a little bit.

Here I am at work, bored as ever, patiently waiting for the 9:15 bell to ring so I can go to break. The bell rings, I grab my purse, buy myself a coffee, and head to the lunch room. Like I do on every break, I dig my phone out of my purse to check if anybody had attempted to contact me.

At the same time, my uncle, aunt, cousin, and grandma are wondering around New York, doing fun things on their little vacation.

When I pull out my phone, I noticed I had a text message from my cousin that woke me up more than that little 30 cent cup of coffee. She writes:

"I just saw a guy that looks a heck of a lot like Edward Cullen"

Because I am slightly obsessed and a little bit of a stalker, apparently, I started freaking out a little. Because I know the answer to the following question.

Do you know who is in New York right now that looks "a heck of a lot like Edward Cullen"???

That's right. Ed Cullen himself. He is currently there filming a new movie.

I told her to be looking out for him some more. She freaked out a little when I told her that she probably did see him. When she gets back I'm gonna have a couple questions for her.

Did he have the ray bans on?
Was he looking grungy as ever?
Did you whip out some mad camera skills and take a creep-tastic picture that would make the paparazzi jealous?

Now, I know my little freak out kinda goes against my "What I would do if I saw Rob Pattinson" post, but I don't care.
