A quick, funny story.

Earlier, I was in the sculpture studio working on my 2 sculptures that are due Monday. With me in the studio are 2 other classmates, one who is an art major and one that I'm pretty sure is not.

Girl who is not says, "I hope to get all this done tonight." (note: she was fixing one sculpture that broke and seemed to have a lot to do on her other. She was not finishing tonight.)

Other art major and I looked at each other, smiled, and then I said, "I have never in my life said that."

He then preceded to laugh, followed by, "I know. It's not that I wouldn't want it to happen. It just isn't feasible."

I'm glad we understand each other.

Ho hum.

I am finished with my show. I'm finished with fibers (for now). I finished with having to worry about getting it done and finding time to sew.

And I'm bored.

I shouldn't be bored. I have 5 other classes that I need to do homework in. I have a presentation and test tomorrow, a paper due Tuesday, and two sculptures that need to get done this week.

And I don't want to do any of it.

Yesterday I was sitting here wanting to get up and do something creative. I wanted to paint. I wanted to go take pictures. I wanted to decorate something.

But, I didn't have a canvas.
It was raining, thus making picture taking hard (plus, I don't have a fancy camera like I wish I did..).
And I have nothing to decorate.

If I could just sit around and paint all day, or go out and get a nice camera and take pictures, or buy a house and decorate it all up, I would be a happy camper. Life would be great. I could go to thrift stores and buy cheap crap and make it awesome and no one would know the difference. (I did this with the clock in our living room. It started out a nasty gold, but with a little bit of love and black paint, it looks awesome. It doesn't work, but at least it looks good.)

But in order to get there, I have to do other things first. Like actually graduate from college. And then find a job. So I guess I should go study now...

20 things that made me smile this past week.

1. Walking out of the art building and instantly smelling flowers.
2. Sleeping with my windows open and feeling the breeze coming through them.
3. Visits from Erin!
4. When Erin helps me on my projects when she comes and visits.
5. The fact that my momma is an editor and can proofread my papers for me.
6. Texting Taylor and telling him that he needs to cheer me up and without asking why he automatically goes into a weird/funny/gross story about his co-worker talking about how they are breeding their horses.
7. Disney music.
8. Tim Gunn.
9. Playing Quidditch.
10. Getting bruises on my legs from playing Quidditch
11. Seeing Bill Nye.
12. This hotsauce picture of Edward Cullen:
(Ignore the other two people in this picture. They don't matter.)
13. Jimmy Fallon
14. My mom giving me $20 and telling Erin to "take me out" since she knew I have been stressed with my show.
15. The Cardinals playing 20 innings.
16. Finding out the Eclipse trailer will be on Oprahhhhhhhhhh on Friday.
17. Joey Lawrence/Melissa Joan Hart movies on abcfamily that are sooooooooo predictable. This movie isn't even over yet and I already know what happens.
18. Following a very skinny man who is doing a very nice runway style walk and is singing.
19. My very happy new light blue damask computer wallpaper.
20. Finishing my art show and getting it all hung up!!

A Letter.

Dear Rupert Grint,

Hi. Remember how I have a large crush on you?? Well, I do. You and that red hair you have. On this blog here, it may seem that my love of Rob overshadows my love for you, but trust. You're right up there with him.

So, I save a lot of magazines. I'm kind of a hoarder. I fully expect to go on that show sometime in the future. Anyways, the magazines I keep are usually ones with either Harry Potter or Twilight as their main focus. Obviously those are the only ones that matter. Well, the other day I decided to take another look at the Entertainment Weekly that features the lovely HP trio on the cover. As I was re-reading the article, I realized that you and I need to be friends. Seriously.

First off, you own an ice cream truck. Do you know how awesome this is?? It is beyond awesome. It is awesomesauce, if you will. You have a truck with a built-in cooler. Please tell me you keep that thing stocked up and have parties where you play music from it.

Second, you play the didgeridoo. I'll be honest, I had to google image this to make sure of what it was. How the crap do you learn how to play this sort of instrument? It is this sort of randomness that I love and appreciate. You should play your didgeridoo, I'll whip out my saxophone, and we can make sweet music. (That would probably be a weird combination, but remember how we are being random??)

And last, but not least, apparently you own a hover craft. I guess being Ron Weasley pays off. I feel like a hover craft is always something that rich people buy just because. And it seems like you did just that. Annnnnd I love you for it.

So, get back to me. I think we could get along grandly. We can throw concerts and parties from that ice cream truck of yours and take rides in the hover craft.

Love,
Whitney

PS-- (DH spoilers for all of you reading...) I have high hopes and expectations for you in Deathly Hallows. I want you to make me cry when you (read: Ron) leave. Or angry. I haven't decided yet. I think I want you to make me cry, and then make me angry. Either way, just be awesome.

My mom meets Twilight.

So, my mother has never seen Twilight.
I never made her cause I knew she wouldn't like it.
I guess now that opening sentence should be "my mother HAD never seen Twilight."
Cause, today she watched part of it with me.

Twilight is now playing on Showtime.
And as I was looking for something to watch earlier today, I saw that it was playing.
Obviously I turned it on.
Not too soon later, Momma got home from work.
As she was sitting in the living room working on some stuff, she started to watch it with me.
I should have introduced her to TLight earlier.
Cause I have never laughed so much in my entire life.

When she started really paying attention was around the baseball scene.
This is one of my favorite scenes of the movie.
So, we're watching and I hear her giggling.
And then Edward starts running. And she started to lose it.
"Woah. He can run fast. Oh and he can throw the ball fast too."
Next Cullen steps up to plate.
"Let's see if he can run fast too. Oh yep."
Now when the bad vamps come into scene, my mother totally lost control of herself.
When Laurent comes up with the baseball and says,
"I believe this belongs to you."
Momma started in.
I have never seen her laugh so hard at a movie in my life.
Especially one where it wasn't made to be funny.

Mom says random things all the time.
It is where I get it from I have determined.
Put that with Twilight, and we have some real winning lines that I will now share with you.

Edward: Rosalie mark the tree.
Mom: What did he say?
Me: He told her to mark the tree. She's wearing Bella's clothes so they can throw him off the track.
Mom: Oh. I thought she was gonna have to pee on it or something.
Me: No Mom. They don't pee.
Mom: They don't pee?! Ever?!

Mom: So how do you kill one of these vampires here?
Me: Rip 'em apart and burn the pieces.
Mom: What?! What if you don't burn them? Is there just moving body parts laying around?
Me: I don't know. I've wondered the same thing.
Mom: What happened to just stabbing them with a wooden stake?

And my personal favorite:
Has anyone tried using garlic on these guys?

Maybe sometime I could introduce her to New Moon.
