Fun times

Today, I had lunch with my dad! He came to Kirksville and we went and had foods at Ponderosa! Good times.

Anyhoo, that's not really what this is about. While we were eating, we got to talking about my sister's winter sports banquet that was the other day. I guess her coach was talking about each of the seniors and he said something about my sister's singing habits. (ha. I guess she sings a lot on the bus. Doesn't surprise me.) The coach told her that while her singing wasn't the greatest (haha) she did at least know every song that came on the radio. Dad said he starting laughing right there cause he knew where we both got that from (the knowing every song on the radio bit).

When we were young gals and with Dad, we would just get in the truck and drive for several hours at night. We would take dirt roads where ever they took us and play the freeze out game and listen to the radio loudly and have an all-around good time. We would listen to mainly classic rock, some country. But that's where we learned great music. I still listen to that same classic rock station today. It is what I fall asleep listening to and when I wake up, I usually automatically start singing the song in my head. When I'm driving around with friends (and I have control of the radio...which doesn't happen much) I like to test them and see if they know the song or who is singing. (Dad says he likes to do that too, and usually he always wins ha.)

Driving around on dirt roads became what my sister and I did with Dad. We usually stopped at the gas station and got a soda and candy, and then hit the gravel. I'm pretty sure Dad's favorite place to go was the area where he lived when he was little. He would always tell the same stories, and I'm pretty sure my sister and I could repeat them exactly still to this day. "This is the place where I broke my arm and I had to walk back up to the house and your grandpa took one look at it and rushed me to the doctor." "This is the hill the school bus slid down one winter."

I miss those days.

So....

I'm watching HP and the Goblet of Fire. I've seen this movie way too many times. I'm quoting what they are saying as they say them. God, I'm a nerd....

It is a fantastic movie though...

edit: This movie has soooooo many sexual references that probably aren't meant to be sexual, but my immature head makes them. Examples:

Hermione to Ron: What has your wand in a knot?

Professor Moody to Harry: Put that in your mouth.

and my personal fav.
Cedric to Harry: You know the prefects bathroom on the fifth floor? It's not a bad place for a bath.
(just the way he says that makes me laugh every time. it is totally like an invitation.)

Movie Review(s)

Rupert/Rob Movies Volume 1:

So in this first edition of movie reviews, I'll tell you about two great movies, one with Rupert Grint and one with Robert Pattinson: Thunderpants and The Haunted Airman. Let's start with Rupert's.

Thunderpants: Rating: Thumbs up!
The storyline of this move is kinda outrageous. I'm laughing just thinking about it. Pretty much, this kid (I think his name was Patrick) has a problem. A flatulence problem. And he can't control it. Well his friend Alan A. Allen (Rupert) can't smell, so they are good buddies. Alan is really smart too, so he tries to help with the problem by making the "thunderpants". And Farting Boy has this dream to go into space, so Alan tries to help with that too.
It was made right after Rupert was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, so he is really young. You should probably watch it. I laughed a lot. And Rupert's hair is perm-tastic.

The Haunted Airman: Rating: Thumbs sideways...
So I'm still confused by what was going on in this movie. Robert plays this pilot in the British army and he gets hurt in action and is paralyzed from the waist down. Well his aunt/lover (I know....) sends him to this freaky hospital. Then he starts seeing things and having nightmares and all and the doctor really isn't doing much. Then the ending is really weird. I won't give away the spoilers. I think I'm gonna have to watch it again, and maybe I won't be so confused. You can watch it too.

Cool Beans

So, while I was at work today I thought this was a good idea. Any job they give me at work requires little or no brain usage, so I have a lot of time to think.

Anyways, I'm sure fun things will come from this. I have a lot of thoughts, and this seems like a good thing to do. I have some fun ideas for sweet posts. Like movie reviews and such. Sooo you should check back, and check back often. (haha like the diabeetus guy..."check your blood sugar, and check it often..")

I'm off to finish watching Ellen. She's a fun lady.

Peace out Girl Scout. (or Boy Scout, depending on your gender...)
